Take care of your feet and your feet will take care of you.

I’ve mentioned it before that a good pair of shoes makes the difference in the day. I’ve been stomping around San Diego in a new assortment of footwear in attempts to to put a finger on what’s best for me. From the beautiful benchmade Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot to Minnesota’s iconic Red Wing Shoe’s Heritage models 9111 and the 3140 Chukka. All Made In USA and crafted with pride by their respective companies, all individually unique in style and function. Proud of each one.

I’m working on breaking them and sorting out what’s best for me. Expect to see more of them shortly.

Recently I’ve had two candid conversations with management peers at my company who are in fact more than twice my age. They graciously shined some light on their own personal lives and what it dwindles down to when it comes “making it all work.” I’m 26 and I’m far from any real concept, manner or way I should engage my life going forward. To be frank, I’ll hardly reveal it to anyone but I’m scared about the future a lot.

One of those manager’s bluntly said “Cruz, you need to start planning. What are you gonna do when you have nothing?” She’s correct in fact. I don’t know what I’d do. She’s 50 years old, my mother’s age, and oddly she reminds me a bit of my own mother. It was so much easier hearing it from her, absorbing and understanding the weight of that concept of myself being unprepared in life because simply she is not my mom. I thanked her full heartily for that and will hold myself to it.

I’m the kind of the guy who as I get older, I need to start writing down things to get a solid grasp on whatever the hell I’m talking about or planning. The best leap I can make when planning nothing to something is a good quality notebook. I have a leather bound journal that I hardly use just because of it’s size and weight, so recently I’ve just looked around for several smaller options in trying to scribble and jot my path ahead.

Here’s the rest so you can keep up with the moon. Also, did you hear the Year of the Dragon started last Monday?

Hi folks! I’m Leah.

When Cruz and I decided to start a project together we thought that it would be an awesome idea to collaborate in a blog, primarily, to keep a little sanity from the good ol’ 9 to 5. We wanted to create a space to post things that inspire us, share cool music, art, a space to talk a little bit about our lives and feature projects for anyone that would be willing to read, enjoy, try – ya know?

And with that, I leave you with Cher’s favorite things!

Thanks for stopping by!

Leah
